Dicmatized: Sexcapades Volume 1: The Doctor Is in! by Dyphia

Dr. Lenese Stringfield Puts the "Sex" in Sex Therapy as she takes the profession by storm with her new and innovative techniques. Her seductive nature and sexy demeanor has her clients eating out of the palm of her hand; amongst other things. Lenese has loved once and lost. So, if she can't be with the one she loves; she will love the one she's with. But, amazing sex doesn't come without a price tag. Too bad life has a lesson to teach this freaky therapist! She will soon learn that Karma is the 'one bitch' that has everyone's address. Fooling around with another woman's husband is dangerous, but falling in love with one can be deadly.

I was told that it takes about eight seconds for a reader to decide if they want to read a book, that decision is based on the cover itself and the description on the back jacket cover. The author, Dyphia’s description (above) entices potential readers to pick up her novel, grab a snack and settle down for a good read. Unfortunately the description isn’t enough to keep the reader engaged or want to read something else by the author if they find themselves having to choose between continuing with the story or putting the book down. That is the position that I found myself in while reading this novel.

It is quite obvious that this author doesn’t take her craft seriously; the story was poorly edited, with several missed opportunities for grammatical and formatting corrections. The story could be a future contender if the author takes the time to invest in professional editing and maybe take the advice that her characters are too busy and there is too much going on at one time. With some coaching, and the realization that sharing multiple storylines in one novel can take away from the main characters plot.

I truly believe that I could have enjoyed this story a lot better if I didn’t have to spend my time editing or trying to figure out if text was the character actually speaking or a thought.

I can’t with a good conscience and loyalty to the literary world, recommend this novel in its current state.

For a reviewer that is not a fan of Christian fiction I will say that I thoroughly enjoy this book. It was just enough religion to know that is Christian fiction but enough that it is not thrown in the reader’s face. The characters in this novel are those that the reader can relate to, from the wild roommate to the holy sister-in-law. For this to be a debut novel she knocks this one out the ballpark. Yes, I do see the best is yet to come.

RIM's Review
Intimate Pleasures: 7 Moments of Pleasure by Nadege
Short spicy hot stories to keep the reader on their backs in more ways than one.
The stories contained in the anthology are short stories told by a woman. Each of the women in these stories talks about sexual encounters that they have had. None of the stories seem to be true, but in many ways at least the reader can picture themselves in that situation. The story I admired the most in this book was called Summer Loving. The things that they did with the ice cube and the refrigerator leaves a footprint in my literary memory.
Nadege did a great job with this novel. It is great to see short stories for the reader on the go. The stories in this book give the reader a beginning, middle, and an end. Nothing is left for the reader to try and understand or comprehend on their own.  The descriptions pull the reader into the novel. I am impatiently awaiting a full novel from Nadege.
